Q&A

We will post your questions and our answers here, whether they are via social networking sites, email or any other means:

Where do you suggest I get a GOOD pitch from for Subbuteo. My 12 year old soccer king is wanting to dig out the game and get playing so I thought I would build a nice board with a decent pitch.....the cloth just seem to degrade so fast.....
John, Oakland Co.
Hey John, any Astro~ would be good. They are usually rubber backed and can be stuck or pinned to a decent sheet of MDF (¾" is sturdiest, ½" is lighter but can warp if not looked after).

I have a Superfooty set. Where can I get better bases? They keep falling over.
Steve, Kent Co.
It depends on what the situation is. Have you tried polishing the bases? I just use a bottle of F21. And a detailing cloth. F21 is made by Turtle Wax, used to be called 2001 until that year was no longer futuristic. I am gonna try a few other options as well. Furniture polish does a decent job too, with a dust cloth.

Otherwise it could be a matter of flicking technique. Try to stand your hand up higher, like standing over the ball to kick it in real footy.

The term "better" bases is very subjective. One base may be better for one person but not as good for another.

- Having visited Steve's pitch I discovered that the Superfooty figures are a tad top-heavy, having no weight (or room for a weight) in the base, and having taller, heavier figures. It is possible to flick them straight but the technique is a little more exact. They handle similarly to the older "cereal bowl" bases.
